Respite Programs

Respite is an important part of the family’s support system. Synergy Kids a safe space that your child is familiar with. When you need a break, or just 2 hours to run errands alone, we’re here. Drop-off respite programs helps children develop the skills to self-regulate in the absence of a caregiver. Our trained ABA therapists and Early Childhood Educators encourage children to interact successfully with peers while enjoying various toys and activities. The two-hour sessions are available in 1:1 or group. Activities include musical social interactions, board games, access to the sensory room and gym for free play, ball skills and sportsmanship coaching. Available for clients aged 4-14, different age groupings and days available.

2 hour 1:1 Respite Program

Drop-off your child for supervised free play inside Synergy Kids. Our team of Early Child Educators will ensure your child is safe and entertained during the caregiver’s time away. Offered 7 days a week. Pre-registration is required. Suitable for kids of all needs.

Small Group RESPITE PROGRAM

2-3 clients and 1 staff enjoy the use of Synergy Kids for 2 hours of supervised play. Clients can use the sensory room, gym, classrooms and kitchen while being supervised by a Synergy Kids Respite staff. Ideal for those who require assistance with behavioural regulation or toileting.

circle time group RESPITE PROGRAM

Ideal for ages 2-6 Synergy Kids staff will lead your child through a book, calendar activities, games and puzzles based on colours/letters and shapes. Clients will participate in structured kindergarten based activities to prepare them for school. They will have access to free play in the gym/kitchen/sensory room. Clients will practice transitions including lining up, waiting for a turn and following instructions in a group. Caregivers are welcome to stay or drop off for the 2 hour session.

Fun with Friends Respite Program

Fun with Friends is a drop-off, group respite program for children with interests and developmental level that fit within a primary classroom environment (Kindergarten to grade 2). Fun with Friends is led by individuals trained in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) and Early Childhood Education. The program offers creative activities that build social and communication skills between program participants – in the absence of their primary caregiver. Great for clients who would benefit from a safe space to practice taking turns, losing, regulating emotions and social communication with their peers. Ideal for ages 3-9 or those with an ‘early learner’ profile.

Stay and Play Respite Program

This drop-off group respite program helps children develop the skills to self-regulate in the absence of a caregiver. Our trained ABA therapists and Early Childhood Educators encourage children to interact successfully with peers while enjoying various toys and activities. The two-hour session involves musical social interactions, board games, access to the sensory room and gym for free play, ball skills and sportsmanship coaching. Available for clients aged 4-14, different age groupings and days available. The group is designed for 6-8 clients of similar skills. Pre Registration for a block of sessions is required.
