Respite Programs

Respite is an important part of the family’s support system. Synergy Kids a safe space that your child is familiar with. When you need a break, or just 2 hours to run errands alone, we’re here. Drop-off respite programs helps children develop the skills to self-regulate in the absence of a caregiver. Our trained ABA therapists and Early Childhood Educators encourage children to interact successfully with peers while enjoying various toys and activities. The two-hour sessions are available in 1:1 or group. Activities include musical social interactions, board games, access to the sensory room and gym for free play, ball skills and sportsmanship coaching. Available for clients aged 4-14, different age groupings and days available.

1:1 Respite Program

Drop-off your child for supervised free play inside Synergy Kids. Our team of Early Child Educators will ensure your child is safe and entertained during the caregiver’s time away. Offered Thursdays and Fridays 4-8pm and weekends 9:30-4pm from September-December 30, 2023. Pre-registration is required. Suitable for kids of all needs. Select staff are trained in behaviour de-escalation and or g-tube feedings. $35 per hour; booked in 1 hour, 90 minute, 2 hour or 3 hour blocks. Combine blocks for full day supervision. Eligible for coverage with SSAH / Passport Funding. 

 

Stay and Play Respite Program

This drop-off group respite program helps children develop the skills to self-regulate in the absence of a caregiver. Our trained Respite Staff are Early Childhood Educators, Educational Assistants and/or Child and Youth Workers who encourage children to interact successfully with peers while enjoying various toys and activities. The two-hour session involves musical instruments,  snack preparation, board games, access to the sensory room and gym for free play, ball skills and sportsmanship coaching. Available for clients aged 9-14 on Thursdays from 6-8pm. Pre- Registration for a block of sessions is required.
The program offers creative activities that build social and communication skills between program participants – in the absence of their primary caregiver. Great for clients who would benefit from a safe space to practice taking turns, losing, regulating emotions and social communication with their peers.
